The AEronautics and Rocketry Enterprise (AERE) at Michigan Tech brings students together to design, build, and test ambitious aerospace systems. From high-powered rocketry and liquid propulsion to aircraft, autonomous systems, and emerging technologies, AERE provides hands-on experience across a growing range of student-led projects.

AERE welcomes Michigan Tech students from all majors and experience levels to take part in hands-on aerospace projects spanning rocketry, propulsion, aircraft design, and emerging technologies. Members work alongside other students to design, build, test, and compete while developing practical engineering and project experience. No prior aerospace experience is required.
OUR STORY
Founded in 2025, AERE brought together Michigan Tech students interested in rocketry, propulsion, aeronautics, and emerging aerospace technologies under one Enterprise.
AERE builds on the experience of established Michigan Tech aerospace groups including Keweenaw Rocket Range (KRR), Propulsion Landing Research (PLR), and SAE Aero Design, while creating a structure capable of supporting increasingly ambitious student-led projects.
Today, AERE gives students the opportunity to take projects from early concepts through design, manufacturing, testing, and competition.
